Privacy Policy

JouleWorx Private Limited — Last updated: April 14, 2026

💡

The short version, if you read nothing else: We collect as little as possible, only what we genuinely need to run this website. We don't sell your data, not now, not ever. We encrypt everything you send us. And you can ask us to delete your information at any time.

Who are we?

JouleWorx Private Limited is a product studio registered in India (CIN: U62012DL2026PTC463416). We build privacy-first software, starting with Kin, a personal safety check-in app.

This Privacy Policy covers our website at jouleworx.com only. When Kin launches, it will have its own dedicated privacy policy.

Questions? Write to us: hello@jouleworx.com

💡

The short version: Privacy is a core design principle for us. We don't collect data we don't need, and we won't ever sell it.

What do we actually believe about privacy?

Privacy is a design principle for us, not a legal checkbox. We don't collect data we don't need. We don't keep it longer than necessary. And we will never sell or broker your personal information. Full stop.

💡

The short version: Three things: your name and email if you contact us, your email (and optionally your platform preference) if you sign up for Kin early access, and basic server logs. Everything is encrypted.

What information do we collect?

What you give us

We only collect three things on this website:

  • check_circleYour name and email when you fill in our contact form, so we can write back to you.
  • check_circleYour email address and optional platform preference (iOS or Android) if you sign up for early access to Kin, so we can let you know when it launches and plan our rollout accordingly.
  • check_circleWhatever you put in an email when you write to us directly.

That's it. We don't ask for your phone number, your birthday, your address, or anything else. If a form ever asks for sensitive information like financial details or government IDs, don't fill it in. We will never ask for that here.

Everything you submit is encrypted using TLS before it even leaves your device, and stored encrypted on our end.

What we collect automatically

When you visit the site, our servers log some basic information: your IP address, your browser type, which pages you visited, and how you got here. We use this only to keep the site running smoothly and to spot unusual activity. It is stored in encrypted form and never tied to your name or identity.

When you submit a form — the contact form or the early access signup — we also process your IP address to prevent abuse. We store it as a one-way cryptographic hash (not the raw address), and it expires automatically after one hour. It is never linked to your name, email, or anything you submitted.

Cookies

We use only essential cookies: the kind that keep the website working. No advertising cookies. No tracking pixels. No behavioral profiling. If that ever changes, we will ask for your permission first.

💡

The short version: We use it to reply to you, send you Kin updates (if you asked), keep the site secure, and understand anonymous usage patterns. Nothing else.

What do we do with your information?

We use your information for exactly four things:

  • check_circleTo reply to your messages.
  • check_circleTo send you Kin launch updates, if you asked for them.
  • check_circleTo keep the website secure.
  • check_circleTo understand, in aggregate and anonymously, how people use the site.

We don't profile you. We don't run ads. We don't make automated decisions about you.

💡

The short version: Either your consent (for marketing emails) or our legitimate interest in responding to messages and keeping the site safe.

What gives us the right to use your data?

We operate under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDPA) and the Information Technology Act, 2000.

For early access signups and marketing emails: we rely on your consent. You can withdraw it any time by clicking unsubscribe or emailing us.

For replying to your messages and keeping the site secure: we rely on legitimate interest. We have a genuine reason to respond to people who write to us, and we're not doing anything that overrides your rights.

💡

The short version: No selling. No renting. We use a few trusted service providers to run the website, and that's it.

Do we share your data with anyone?

We don't sell it. We don't rent it. We don't trade it.

We use a small number of third-party services to operate the website: things like hosting and email delivery. These providers only get the data they need to do their job, and they are contractually required to keep it confidential. We choose providers who take security seriously.

If a court or government authority legally requires us to disclose something, we will comply. We would rather not, but the law requires it.

💡

The short version: Contact messages for 12 months. Early access emails until Kin launches or you unsubscribe. Server logs for 90 days.

How long do we keep your data?

We keep things only as long as we need them:

  • scheduleContact form messages: 12 months from the last time we were in touch. Longer only if we have an ongoing relationship that requires it.
  • scheduleEarly access email list: Until you unsubscribe, or until Kin has launched and the list has served its purpose.
  • scheduleServer logs: 90 days, then deleted.

💡

The short version: You can see, fix, or delete your data. You can withdraw consent. You can complain to us or to the Data Protection Board of India. Just email us.

What are your rights?

You have real rights here, and we take them seriously. Under the DPDPA and applicable law, you can:

  • check_circleSee what we have: Ask for a copy of your personal data.
  • check_circleFix it: Ask us to correct anything that is wrong or incomplete.
  • check_circleDelete it: Ask us to erase your data. We will do it, subject to any legal obligations we have to retain certain records.
  • check_circleChange your mind: If you gave us consent, you can withdraw it at any time.
  • check_circleComplain: You can raise a concern directly with us, or with the Data Protection Board of India once it is operational.

To do any of the above, email hello@jouleworx.com. We will respond within 30 days.

💡

The short version: TLS encryption in transit, encryption at rest, strict access controls, and a principle of collecting as little as possible in the first place.

How do we protect your data?

We take security seriously. Here is what we do:

  • shield_lockEncryption in transit: Everything sent between you and this site is encrypted using TLS (Transport Layer Security).
  • shield_lockEncryption at rest: Stored data is encrypted on our servers.
  • shield_lockAccess controls: Only the people who need to see your data to do their jobs can access it.
  • shield_lockMinimal collection: The best way to protect data is to not collect it in the first place. So we don't.

No system is 100% secure. If we ever discover a breach that affects your data, we will notify you as required by law.

💡

The short version: Kin is for everyone, including younger users. For this website, we just ask that under-18s act with a parent or guardian's knowledge.

What about younger users?

Kin is designed to help people stay safe, and that includes users of all ages. This website is informational. If you are under 18 and want to sign up for early access or get in touch, we ask that you do so with a parent or guardian's knowledge.

When Kin launches, it will have its own privacy policy that addresses any relevant age-appropriate considerations. We are mindful of our obligations under Section 9 of the DPDPA.

If you think a minor has submitted data to us without appropriate guidance, write to us at hello@jouleworx.com and we will take care of it promptly.

What about links to other sites?

Our site links to places like our blog and social media profiles. We are not responsible for what those sites do with your data. We recommend checking their policies directly.

Will this policy change?

We will update this page if anything changes, and we will mark the new date at the top. For anything significant, we will try to give you more visible notice.
